Privacy Policy

GenZOffice is a document viewer and editor for Android, made by Safar Technologies Private Limited. Your documents are processed entirely on your device and never uploaded. The only data we collect is anonymous, aggregate usage analytics to improve the app — never your documents — which you can switch off.

What stays on your device

• Your files. GenZOffice reads, edits, converts and shares the documents you open. We never upload them. Files picked through the system picker are copied into the app's own storage, and that copy stays on the phone.
• Recent files and favourites. Stored locally on the device.
• Passwords for protected files. Hashed with PBKDF2-SHA512 (100,000 iterations) and stored in the Android Keystore. The hash never leaves the device.
• Encrypted files. "Protect" writes an AES-256-CBC + HMAC-SHA256 envelope. The key comes from your password, so we cannot recover it.

What leaves your device

• Your documents never do. They are read, edited, converted and shared entirely on your phone — never uploaded, never seen by us. Every document feature works offline.
• Anonymous usage analytics. Aggregate, non-identifying events about how the app is used (which features are opened, screen views, conversion counts), via Google Analytics for Firebase with the advertising ID and ad personalisation switched off. It never includes your documents, their names or contents, or your search text, and is sent only when you are online. On by default; switch it off in Settings › Privacy.
• Push-notification token. If you allow notifications, the app registers a Firebase messaging token — an app-install identifier that holds no personal information — stored with your app version so an announcement can target a particular version (such as telling you an update is available). It is unregistered when you turn notifications off, and removed once you uninstall or disable the app.
• No advertising, no cloud sync of your files. The app is funded by voluntary donations collected on this website, never inside the app.

This website

The app itself does not talk to our servers. This website does, and only for what follows.

• Donations. If you donate, payment is processed by PayPal — we never see or store your card details. We record the amount, the currency, PayPal's order and capture identifiers, and the status of the payment.
• Your email, only if you give it. Donating anonymously is the default. If you choose to leave an email for a receipt, we store it and use it for nothing else. We do not copy the email address PayPal reports to us.
• Launch notifications. If you ask to be told when the app launches, we store that address and email you once, at launch.
• IP addresses. We do not store them. We keep a salted, irreversible hash purely to detect abuse of the donation form.
• Anonymous analytics. This site uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate visits and improve the pages. It is configured with advertising signals and ad personalisation off and IP anonymisation on — no ad profiling, and nothing that identifies you. It never sees any file (the browser tools run entirely on your device).

Permissions the app requests

• Storage / Media. To open files from Downloads, Documents and shared media folders.
• Camera and Photo Library. Optional, only when you choose to add a photo.
• Fingerprint / Face unlock. Optional, only for unlocking protected files.

We never request location, contacts or microphone access.

Children's privacy

GenZOffice does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. The only data collected is anonymous, non-identifying usage analytics (which can be switched off in the app), and the app shows no advertising.

Your choices

To have a donation record or an email address deleted, write to contact@genzoffice.in and we will remove it.
